Queuing for hours to do banking on the last day of the year
Not only are ATMs and Internet Banking "congested", banks are also overloaded at counters, many people have to wait for hours to make transactions.
After 2 pm, at the transaction office of a large bank on Duy Tan Street, Hanoi, Ms. Hoa, number 2,054, was excited because "a few more numbers until her turn". She needed to pay the interest and principal of her car loan, and had been waiting here for nearly an hour. The faces around her were also tired from waiting, some sat here for about 30 minutes, some for an hour.
Among them, there were people waiting to deposit money into their accounts, or transfer money, complain about transactions, or retrieve their ATM cards that were swallowed over the weekend... A young man, after surfing the web on his phone, decided to take out his computer and work on the spot while waiting.

This is also the common situation of some other "peak" transaction offices. At 3pm on the 27th of Tet, another transaction office in Phuong Mai (Dong Da) had up to 40-50 customers standing and sitting waiting for their turn.
Nearly a dozen bank counters were full. After transferring money to a customer, the employee turned to her colleague and complained that she "hadn't had time to drink water or go to the bathroom yet." She read the customer's name out loud about four times, but no one came to the counter. This was one of the impatient customers who "had gone out for work" about 30 minutes ago.
On Ba Trieu Street, in front of a bank transaction office located in a shopping center, customers also lined up in front of ATMs waiting for their turn to withdraw money. Some ATMs were broken, some were overloaded due to the large number of transactions, some were waiting to be dispensed more money, so the number of people transacting was even more concentrated in one place, especially in convenient and crowded locations. The scene of waiting in line was common.

Not only at some transaction counters or ATMs, the Internet banking or mobile banking systems of some banks such as Agribank, Vietcombank... are also overloaded. Some common errors that users encounter are: unable to log in to the application; entering enough information and then being "kicked" out of the system; bank maintenance error; transferring money but the beneficiary has not received the money even though the account has been deducted...
