(Baonghean.vn) - The theme of this year's Disability Day is "Access for All" with the message of raising public awareness of people with disabilities and disability issues, enhancing opportunities, and enhancing the status of people with disabilities.

On the morning of April 18, Nghe An Association of People with Disabilities held a ceremony to celebrate the 21st anniversary of Vietnam Day for People with Disabilities (April 18, 1998 - April 18, 2019) and summarize the first skilled competition in 2019.

At the ceremony, delegates reviewed the 21-year tradition of the Vietnam Day for People with Disabilities. In Nghe An, although it has only been in operation for 2 years, the Association for People with Disabilities has attracted about 1,200 members in all 21 districts, cities and towns in the province.

Since its establishment, the Association has overcome difficulties, successfully completed its tasks of gathering and caring for the lives of people with disabilities, and encouraged people with disabilities to continue to strive to overcome difficulties and confidently integrate into the community.

The theme of this year’s Disability Day is “Access for All” with the message of raising public awareness of people with disabilities and disability issues, enhancing opportunities and enhancing the status of people with disabilities. Thereby removing barriers and promoting equal integration of people with disabilities in society.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee of the 1st Skill Competition in 2019 for the disabled summarized and awarded outstanding individuals in 4 professions: embroidery, sewing, toothpick packaging and carpentry, including 1 first prize, 1 second prize, 1 third prize and 1 consolation prize.
