Heartbreaking fate of two children abandoned by their parents in a house swept away by a storm.
(Baonghean.vn) - "The roof of my brother's house was blown away by the storm, now that my parents have returned, there is no place to live...", Quan finished speaking, wiping away the tears that were streaming down his cheeks.
The tearful sharing of the boy Nguyen Huu Quan (12 years old, living in hamlet 6, Trung Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, Nghe An) made the witnesses feel sorry for the fate of the two children.
Quan and his younger brother Nguyen Huu Nguyen (8 years old), small, skinny, with dark skin, sat blankly in front of the house whose roof was blown off after storm number 2.

The small two-room house with a corrugated iron roof of the Quan brothers was built about 15 years ago. The second storm that swept through the house severely damaged it, blowing off most of the roof. The house was worthless, but since their parents left, the two brothers have been living together, hoping for the day they would see their parents again.
Quan said: “During the storm at night, we went to my grandmother's house to take shelter from the storm for safety. When we returned home early in the morning when the storm ended, the house had already been swept away by the storm.”
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Truong (78 years old), Quan and Nguyen's grandmother, looked sadly and said: Because of irreconcilable differences, 6 years ago, Ms. Nguyen Thi H. (Quan and Nguyen's mother) took Nguyen to Ninh Binh, told him to go to work, then left Nguyen with her younger sister who was working there and disappeared when Nguyen was less than 2 years old.

After a while, when her sister did not return, Nguyen's aunt took her back to her father and grandmother. Six years have passed and there is still no news of her mother.
Four years after his mother left, his father, Nguyen Huu Bo, had a traffic accident. The responsibility of taking care of and raising Quan and his siblings fell heavily on Mrs. Truong's shoulders.
"The children's mother is still missing. I advised my son to find a job to earn money to raise the children because I am too old to take care of both my children and grandchildren. Two years ago, Bo said he was going to the South to work and then he has been missing since then. I feel sorry for my two grandchildren, they were abandoned by their parents when they were still so young," Mrs. Truong said sadly.
Feeling sorry for her two helpless grandchildren, Mrs. Truong is old and weak, making a living by selling small goods. They depend on each other, sometimes hungry, sometimes full, but she still tries to take care of and support her grandchildren when they are sick.
Quan and Nguyen grew up in the love and care of their grandmother and the protection of their siblings. Although life was difficult, the family still tried to ensure that Quan and Nguyen did not drop out of school.
To earn money to cover their daily expenses outside of school hours, the two brothers went to the fields to catch crabs, eels, and snails to bring home for daily meals and to sell at the market to earn extra money to buy books and clothes. Despite lacking the love and care of their parents, both Quan and Nguyen were known to be good children, eager to learn, and loved each other very much.
“Looking at the children happily reunited with their parents, I couldn’t hold back my tears. They lacked the love of their parents, struggled to make a living every day, and now their house was damaged by the storm. I feel so sorry for them, but I am helpless…” Mrs. Truong sighed.
Luckily, Quan and his brothers are currently receiving help from a volunteer group to re-roof their roof. The two brothers are overjoyed: If so, when their parents come back, they will have a house to live in!
