Authorities are cutting open overloaded truck beds in Quynh Luu.
(Baonghean.vn) - At noon on August 21st, during a surprise inspection on National Highway 1A in Quynh Hong commune (Quynh Luu district), a team of transport inspectors from Nghe An province discovered a HOWO truck with license plate 37C-10927, driven by Tran Duc Tai (25 years old, residing in Quynh Hong commune, Quynh Luu district), showing signs of abnormal dimensions.

The inspection team drew up a report, requiring the director of Van Truong Co., Ltd. to commit to cutting the truck bed to the original standard and to immediately notify the team for re-inspection.
According to Mr. Phan Huy Chuong, Deputy Chief Inspector of the Nghe An Department of Transport, Van Truong Company Limited has hundreds of vehicles, including 20 HOWO trucks that need to be dealt with. In the province, there are currently 29 transport businesses with 163 vehicles that have arbitrarily altered the dimensions of their cargo beds; 64 vehicles have voluntarily removed the extensions; and 99 vehicles have committed to removing the extensions by August 31, 2014.
