How to handle Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh's final position?

Responding to the press, Chairman of Da Nang Huynh Duc Tho said that the process of reviewing and handling Mr. Xuan Anh's position as Chairman of the Da Nang People's Council is not under the authority of the People's Committee.

At the Da Nang City press conference this morning, the press asked the city's leaders to inform about the handling of Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh's position.

Specifically, Mr. Xuan Anh was disciplined by the Central Committee and removed from the position of Secretary of the City Party Committee. He also recently resigned from the position of Secretary of the City Military Party Committee. However, Mr. Xuan Anh still holds an important position as Chairman of the City People's Council.

Responding to the press, Chairman of Da Nang Huynh Duc Tho said that the question was beyond the ability of the City People's Committee to answer.

“As you know, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh is an official under the management of the Politburo and the Party Central Committee. We have information about the recent disciplinary case. Currently, comrade Xuan Anh is also a People's Council Delegate and Chairman of the People's Council of Da Nang City,” Mr. Tho explained.

Da Nang Chairman Huynh Duc Tho informed about the review of Mr. Xuan Anh's position.

The Chairman of Da Nang added that according to regulations, the People's Council is an elected organization, so the handling belongs to the process of the Party organization.

“As far as we know, this process is currently continuing to be implemented in accordance with the organization’s regulations. We are not the competent authority to manage this matter, so we can only provide brief information,” said Mr. Tho.

Previously, Mr. Doan Xuan Hieu, Chief of Office of the Da Nang People's Council, said that according to the procedure, after the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee gave its opinion, the Standing Committee of the City People's Council will meet to consider Mr. Xuan Anh's position. If there is an extraordinary meeting, the People's Council will notify 7 days in advance according to the prescribed time.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh was elected Chairman of the People's Council of Da Nang City at the first session of the People's Council of Da Nang City for the 2016 - 2021 term (June 16, 2016), replacing Mr. Tran Tho.
