Nearly 2,000 cases of violations related to passenger cars in Nghe An were handled
(Baonghean) - Recently, across the country as well as in Nghe An, there have been many traffic accidents involving passenger vehicles, leaving serious consequences for people and property, making people worried.
Many terrible accidents
Among the recent bus accidents in Nghe An province, many people are still haunted by the accident at the end of October.

The strong impact caused the 4-seater car to be pulled many times, completely deformed. Although the airbags in the 4-seater car deployed, 3 people in the car, including 2 men and 1 woman, died on the spot, while Mr. Minh, the driver, was seriously injured.
Two consecutive accidents at noon on October 15 in the province also caused 2 deaths on the spot and dozens of injured people who had to be hospitalized. The first incident occurred at 11:40 am on the Vinh City bypass. A truck with license plate 89C-185.61 traveling in the direction of Vinh - Hanoi when reaching Km 1+800, in Nghi Dien commune, Nghi Loc district, suddenly collided with a passenger bus with license plate 48B-004.80 going in the opposite direction.
The strong collision caused the truck assistant to die and be trapped in the cabin. The truck driver was seriously injured and had to be taken to the emergency room by local people. 15 passengers on the bus were injured and had to be taken to Hospital 115.

The second incident occurred at around 12 noon the same day on National Highway 48, at the intersection of Chau Binh market (Quy Chau district). Accordingly, the 24-seat Dung Ly passenger van with license plate 37B - 003.77 was traveling from Quy Chau to Vinh, when it suddenly crashed into a couple (living in Thung Khang village, Chau Binh commune) riding a motorbike with license plate 37G1- 020.50. The consequence was that the husband, Mr. Lo Van Son (born in 1986), died, and the wife had to be taken to the emergency room in critical condition.
Then, at about 2:00 a.m. on October 19, two female students, Nguyen Thi Ly Ly (born in 1997, a student at Vinh University; residing in Trung Thuong hamlet, Ky Tan commune, Ky Anh, Ha Tinh) and Le Thi Khanh Ly (born in 1998, residing in Nghi Thach commune, Nghi Loc, Nghe An) were riding a motorbike on Le Duan street (Vinh city). When they reached the intersection of Bach Lieu street and Le Duan street, they were hit by a sleeper bus with license plate 17B-017.26 driven by Ron Van Duan (residing in Tien Hai district, Thai Binh) traveling from the South to the North.
The extremely strong collision threw the car and the two female students about 30 meters. The accident caused female student Nguyen Thi Ly Ly to die on the spot, and Le Thi Khanh Ly to be seriously injured.
More than 70% of errors are due to the driver
It is easy to see that trade activities between provinces and cities are increasingly promoted. Where there is demand, there is supply, so the number of passenger cars participating in activities on the route has increased rapidly, raising many concerns related to violations and traffic accidents.
According to statistics from the Provincial Traffic Police Department, since the beginning of the year, there have been 15 traffic accidents involving passenger buses in the area, killing 12 people and injuring 24.
Analyzing the causes of serious traffic accidents, the authorities determined that subjective errors by vehicle drivers accounted for the majority. For accidents involving passenger vehicles, driver errors accounted for more than 70%, with violations such as: exceeding the prescribed speed limit; avoiding or overtaking in violation of regulations; driving in the wrong part of the road or lane...
According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Truong Giang - Head of the Handling Team, Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police: Since the beginning of the year, the Traffic Police force has handled 1,960 violations, an increase of 356 cases compared to the same period in 2018.
This shows that many drivers lack awareness and ignore the provisions of the Traffic Law. In addition, in reality, many businesses and cooperatives outsource to drivers, leading to reckless driving. In addition, passenger cars in general and inter-provincial passenger cars in particular have developed too strongly, with supply exceeding demand, leading to competition for passengers and causing accidents.
Not to mention on long routes, drivers have to drive for a long time, so they are quite tired, but for profit, many businesses do not care, or ignore safety factors, leading to unnecessary consequences. A bus driver said: "If you drive continuously for 5 hours or more than 10 hours in a day, the driver can easily get tired and sleepy, while an accident can happen in just a split second."

Referring to solutions to "cool down" violations, minimizing the risk of traffic accidents for passenger vehicles, especially at the end of the year when the demand for travel and trade increases, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Nam Hong - Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police, emphasized that, in addition to promoting propaganda work, the Traffic Police force will continue to strengthen patrols and control, strictly handle violations that are direct causes of traffic accidents such as: driving in the wrong part of the road, lane; exceeding the prescribed speed; using alcohol while driving...
Along with the solutions to overcome and handle black spots that are currently being implemented, Mr. Vo Minh Duc - Chief of Office of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee said that to limit traffic accidents, businesses must focus on driver recruitment. Accordingly, health and skills must be checked periodically, and drivers must be trained. The phenomenon of drinking alcohol and beer must be strictly prohibited, especially not using drug-addicted drivers.
Many opinions also believe that in cases where passenger vehicles cause particularly serious accidents, there should be strict sanctions, and it is possible to consider holding the entire business responsible, which, for short-term profits, ignores standards in recruiting and using drivers, causing accidents that leave long-term consequences for society.
Representatives of Nghe An Automobile Transport Association said that units with the function of training, testing, and issuing driving licenses need to strictly implement training on hours and licenses for the driver team. Integrate contents related to professional ethics education for drivers.

Reality shows that the consequences of traffic accidents involving passenger cars are a warning bell about the awareness and ethics of traffic participants, especially drivers.
Therefore, to minimize traffic accidents involving passenger vehicles, in addition to promoting propaganda, increasing patrols and controls by authorities, the role of transport businesses is also extremely important in monitoring vehicle operations, regularly reminding drivers to comply with regulations on speed and pick-up and drop-off routes, especially on national highways.
In particular, the driver himself must be aware that he is the one "holding in his hands" the lives of all passengers in the vehicle and surrounding traffic participants to always comply with traffic safety regulations when driving vehicles.
