Dealing with those who spread fake news about the Corona virus to get likes
Spreading false rumors about the Corona virus outbreak in Thach That (Hanoi), Nguyen Quy Trong (born in 1990) was invited by the police to come in for questioning.
On February 2, Hanoi City Police said they had handled a subject who spread fake news on Facebook about the Corona virus epidemic.
The person summoned is Nguyen Quy Trong (born in 1990, in Ngoc Than, Ngoc My, Quoc Oai, Hanoi). At the police station, Trong admitted to fabricating the news that the Corona virus appeared in Thach That (Hanoi), with the purpose of attracting likes and shares on the social network Facebook.

After that, the article spread on Facebook with many shares and comments, causing public confusion in Thach That district and neighboring areas.
The police have determined that Trong's posting of information on his personal Facebook page about the Corona virus outbreak in Thach That district was baseless, completely fabricated, and caused public panic. Trong himself realized that this was a mistake and promised not to repeat it.
Thach That District Police are preparing a case file to handle this case according to the law.
Currently, the Hanoi City Police Department has made a list of Facebook account owners posting false information about the prevention and control of the Corona virus epidemic in the city and will continue to handle them in the coming time.
According to Clause 3, Article 64 of Decree 174/2013/ND-CP of the Government regulating administrative sanctions in the fields of post, telecommunications, information technology and radio frequencies, the act of posting false information online is subject to a fine of 20-30 million VND.
