(Baonghean.vn) - Continuing the program of monitoring the settlement of voters' opinions and recommendations, on the afternoon of October 21, the monitoring delegation of the Provincial People's Council Standing Committee led by Mr. Hoang Viet Duong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council had a working session with the Department of Industry and Trade.

One of the issues that voters have reported to the Department of Industry and Trade is the serious deterioration of the power lines and poles in many localities, causing unsafety, especially during the rainy and stormy season; the rural power grid and transformer stations are slow to be upgraded, not ensuring the safety of people's daily life and production.

Responding to this issue, a representative of the Department of Industry and Trade said: Since receiving the project in 2010, Nghe An Electricity Company has invested more than 1,500 billion VND to renovate the low voltage system alone, but due to the old and dilapidated grid and the large volume of projects, only 1/3 of the total volume has been renovated. The electricity industry is continuing to invest in additional transformer stations, with an estimated 1,500 stations in the 2015-2018 period.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh An - Deputy Head of the Culture - Social Committee of the Provincial People's Council made a recommendation on the situation of violations of power grid corridor safety.

Responding to voters' feedback on the situation of some villages and hamlets in communes in mountainous districts, especially communes with special difficulties, which have not yet had an electricity grid, the Department of Industry and Trade said: During the survey and planning of the rural electricity supply project for the period 2014 - 2020, due to lack of careful survey, some villages and hamlets have not been included in the project to ensure electricity supply for the people. Nghe An Electricity Company will actively mobilize investment, call for capital to invest in upgrading the power grid; arrange capital to implement phase II of the project for communes without electricity.

At the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh An - Deputy Head of the Culture and Society Committee (Provincial People's Council) reported: Violations of the power grid safety corridor have increased and occurred for a long time without any solution. Ms. An cited that in 2015 there were 11 cases, and in 2016 there were 16 cases of violations of the power grid safety corridor.

Responding to this content, representatives of the Department of Industry and Trade and Nghe An Electricity Company said: The power grid corridor has been invested in and built for many years. During the development process, some localities have allocated land in the power grid safety corridor, so people still invest in construction. In 2013, the whole province had 500 points of violation of the power grid safety corridor. Up to now, the electricity industry has relocated and resolved 301 points. However, the efficiency is not high, some points where people build houses and plant trees in the power grid corridor cannot be resolved.

Explaining voters' recommendations on the complicated management of counterfeit, fake and poor quality goods, as the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee 389, the Market Management Department advises and directs relevant agencies to coordinate and strengthen inspections of key areas and routes for smuggling, gathering points for counterfeit, poor quality and intellectual property rights-infringing goods.

Regarding the work of preventing and combating smuggling of counterfeit, fake and poor quality goods, Ms. Luc Thi Lien - Deputy Head of the Ethnic Minorities Committee, Provincial People's Council reflected: Mountainous areas are abused for the consumption of counterfeit and poor quality goods. The Department of Industry and Trade needs to have a specific plan, to propagate to the people through mass media; at the same time, control traffic hubs in the transportation of goods from the lowlands to the highlands.

Responding to this issue, the Department of Industry and Trade admitted: Although the fight against smuggling, counterfeit goods and trade fraud is regularly deployed by functional forces. However, the situation of trading and transporting prohibited goods, smuggled goods and counterfeit goods through the area is still complicated, occurring in many places, especially in remote areas, affecting the rights of consumers and production and business enterprises.

The representative of the Market Management Department reflected that currently, the state management of inspection and examination still has many shortcomings and overlaps. Every year, or on holidays and Tet, many agencies, departments and branches come to inspect and examine production and business establishments, but the handling is still limited.

Comrade Hoang Viet Duong requested that the Department of Industry and Trade should strengthen state management of issues under its management such as electricity, consumer goods, food safety, etc. He requested that the Department of Industry and Trade step up inspection and market management and resolutely handle establishments producing and trading counterfeit and poor-quality goods, violating food safety, and multi-level marketing, gradually stabilizing and improving market relations, etc.
