Handling tax debt in the mining sector
(Baonghean) - After considering the proposal from the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and the Nghe An Tax Department regarding the handling of mining enterprises that still owe taxes, the Provincial People's Committee has the following opinion:
- Nghe An Tax Department: To take the lead in coordinating with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the People's Committees of districts, cities, and towns, and other relevant agencies to comprehensively and decisively apply measures to recover tax debts in the mineral sector; to review cases of mineral-producing enterprises that have already applied debt recovery measures according to current tax regulations, and to propose that the Department of Natural Resources and Environment handle them in accordance with the Mineral Law.
- Department of Natural Resources and Environment: Based on the review and proposal of the Nghe An Tax Department, a document will be issued notifying businesses that they must fulfill their tax obligations within 90 days; report on the results of implementation and advise the Provincial People's Committee on handling cases where no remedial measures are taken.
