(Baonghean.vn) -At approximately 7:20 PM on January 29th, a short circuit occurred at the Lien Co transformer station (Hung Binh ward, Vinh City), causing a power outage and disruption to communication for 150 households.

The power and telecommunications sectors are coordinating to handle the incident at the Lien Co Power Station area.

Upon receiving reports from residents, and immediately after a short circuit caused a fire at several power poles belonging to the Lien Co Substation, Vinh City Power Company dispatched its Area 2 power management team (consisting of 15 officers and technical workers) to the scene. They worked with other authorities to cut off power and extinguish the fire. Immediately afterward, the officers and technical workers began rectifying the problem. After 3 hours of work, power was restored.

Mr. Tran Duc Tien – Team Leader of the Area 2 Electricity Management Team, said: “To ensure the safety of people celebrating Tet, on the morning of January 30th, Vinh City Power Company continued to mobilize all technical staff of the Area 2 Electricity Management Team to help households and customers re-establish connection points (after the electricity meter). Also during Tet, Vinh City Power Company assigned 5 teams to be on duty 24/7, and in case of electricity problems, customers can contact the hotline number: 0906240735.”

Also on the morning of January 30th, Vinh City Telecommunications, Viettel mobilized its team of technicians and workers to promptly handle the incident.

The cause of the electrical short circuit was determined to be an overloaded customer's outgoing wire, which then overheated, igniting the communication system's wiring and causing the fire to spread.
