Although the work of the households is voluntary, based on the criteria for poor households and a multi-dimensional review, the district decided to remove 133 households that met the criteria and submitted a petition from the list of poor households.
This is a funny story, proving that the majority of people in the highlands of Nghe An are truly enlightened, abandoning the mindset of waiting and relying on government policies, and rising up to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty.

Mr. Thai Van Thanh and his wife Bui Thi Phuong are originally from Yen Thanh district and came to Yen Khe to make a living. In 2014, Mr. Thanh became seriously ill, so the people considered him a poor household. At the end of 2015, he asked the people not to consider his family as a poor household anymore. He said: "The family has 2.5 sao of tea; the children have started their own families, and their illnesses have improved, so we should not keep the household poor. That's why I wrote the petition." |
