Fined 2 sand transport ships for not ensuring maritime procedures

(Baonghean.vn) - These two vehicles carried 160m3 of sand but were not equipped with life buoys, fire prevention and fighting equipment; did not purchase civil liability insurance; and their technical safety and environmental protection certificates had expired.

At around 9:00 a.m. on June 14, while patrolling and controlling the Cua Hoi creek area (Nghi Hai ward, Cua Lo town), the patrol force of the Cua Lo - Ben Thuy port border post (Nghe An Border Guard) discovered two sand-carrying ships with signs of violations.

The two ships include: Ninh Binh 06, license plate NA 2480, capacity of 48 horsepower, owned by Mr. Nguyen Van Minh (born in 1999, residing in Hung Loi commune, Hung Nguyen district); TH 0473, capacity of 48 horsepower, owned by Mr. Tran Anh Tuan (born in 1991, residing in Hung Loi commune, Hung Nguyen).

During the inspection, the vehicle owners did not ensure that they had all the required documents such as technical safety and environmental protection certificates; did not equip life buoys, fire prevention and fighting equipment; did not purchase civil liability insurance, etc.

The Border Guard Station at Cua Lo - Ben Thuy Port made a record and issued a decision to administratively fine 2 vehicles over 7.1 million VND.
