Fine Van Nghe Electronic Newspaper for publishing special page without permission
On the afternoon of February 22, information from the Ministry of Information and Communications said that the Press Department has just decided to impose administrative penalties on the Van Nghe Electronic Newspaper.
According to the decision signed by Director Luu Dinh Phuc, the Van Nghe Electronic Newspaper published an additional special page with the domain name vannghetre.net without a license, violating the provisions of Point b, Clause 3, Article 5 of Decree No. 159/2013/ND-CP of the Government regulating administrative sanctions for violations in press and publishing activities.
For this violation, Van Nghe Electronic Newspaper was fined 30 million VND.
On the same day, the Press Department also sent a document to the Editor-in-Chief of the Van Nghe Electronic Newspaper requesting that the information posted be checked; and at the same time, report the results in writing to the Press Department before February 24.
Previously, on February 21, the Van Nghe Tre page (domain name vannghetre.com.vn) of the Van Nghe electronic newspaper published an article "Another case of officials using public vehicles with fake license plates?...", which included information that Da Nang City Party Secretary Nguyen Xuan Anh was using a public vehicle with fake license plates and a value exceeding the prescribed standard.
On February 22, the Chief of Office of the Da Nang City Party Committee provided information to the press, affirming that much of the information in the above article was inaccurate, affecting the reputation and image of the Party Committee and people of Da Nang City.
It is known that after the unauthorized vannghetre.net website was closed, this website was moved to the licensed domain name vannghetre.com.vn./.
