(Baonghean.vn) - Thanh Chuong District Forest Protection Department has just issued a decision to fine the subject who destroyed the forest on Giang Man mountain 7.5 million VND and force him to return the illegal profits gained from committing the administrative violation.
On June 1, Thanh Chuong District Forest Protection Department issued a Decision to sanction administrative violations in the forestry sector against Hoang Van Viet (born in 1974), residing in Hamlet 3, Thanh Ha Commune (Thanh Chuong), for havingIllegal exploitation in production forests.
The types of wood illegally exploited by Hoang Van Viet are common round wood, groups VI, VII, VIII, belonging to natural forest wood, at lots 28, 31, plot 170, compartment 5, sub-area 1008, map sheet number 2, Thanh Ha commune.

Previously, as reported by Nghe An Newspaper, on April 18, 2023, after receiving the report, the working group of Thanh Thuy Forest Ranger Station under Thanh Chuong District Forest Ranger Department coordinated with Thanh Ha Commune People's Committee to inspect and discover the deforestation case in Do Mountain and Giang Man Mountain, in the border area between Thanh Ha Commune and Thanh Mai Commune, Thanh Chuong District.

After discovering the incident, from the remaining traces at the scene, the authorities summoned Hoang Van Viet. However, Hoang Van VietHe only admitted to cutting 7 trees and 13 pieces, while at the scene of the deforestation, the authorities discovered 30 round logs of various types (mainly groups VI to VIII).
In addition, in the area surrounding lot 42, plot 201 mentioned above, 29 trees with diameters from 28-36 cm were also discovered cut close to the base.

It is known that the problem of illegal deforestation at Giang Man mountain and other surrounding mountains, located in the border area between Thanh Mai and Thanh Ha communes, is always a headache for local authorities and functional agencies.
Regarding Hoang Van Viet, in addition to being administratively fined 7.5 million VND, this subject was also forced to return the illegal profits gained from committing the administrative violation.
