Man fined for posting false information about floods in Dak Lak.

On December 1, 2025, the Internal Political Security Department of the Nghe An Provincial Police issued a decision to impose administrative penalties on a case of posting false information about the flood situation in Dak Lak province.

Recently, many false rumors have appeared on social media.false informationRegarding the flood situation that is causing public concern.

Through monitoring and tracking the online situation, the Internal Political Security Department of the Nghe An Provincial Police discovered that at approximately 9 PM on November 21, 2025, a Facebook account named NSG (residing in Truong Vinh Ward, Nghe An Province) posted a video clip showing a woman participating in local charity work, informing people about the deaths of many people in Hoa Thinh Commune, Dak Lak Province, due to their houses being severely flooded.

At that time, although the information had not been verified, this video was shared by many Facebook accounts and fan pages, including many accounts with a large number of followers, attracting public attention and causing public confusion.

Working with authorities, Mr. NSG admitted to posting false information without verifying it. Immediately after realizing the information was a baseless rumor, he proactively removed the post and edited it on his personal Facebook page.

Based on Mr. G.'s actions, the Internal Political Security Department issued a decision to impose an administrative penalty of 5 million VND for providing and sharing false and fabricated information about the flood situation in Dak Lak province.

Given the complex and unpredictable nature of the storm and rain situation, the police advise people to be vigilant about information on social media, to monitor and update information from official news agencies; and to absolutely refrain from spreading or sharing unverified information, especially fake news created by AI to gain views and likes.
