Symptoms of heatstroke

The hallmark symptom of heat stroke is a core body temperature above 40.5°C. Often fainting may be the first sign.

In mild cases, the patient feels tired, dizzy, lightheaded, has an increased heart rate, increased breathing rate, palpitations, muscle weakness or cramps, etc.don't sweat even though the weather is hot,red, hot and dry skin

How to handle

Mild:

-Quickly proceed to reduce the victim's body temperature byImmediately move the victim to a cool, airy place.

- Loosen or remove some of the victim's outer clothing. Then, wipe the victim's body with a cool towel or pour cool water on the victim's body and dry it. Place a towel soaked in cool water or ice in areas such as the armpits, groin, and both sides of the neck to help quickly reduce body temperature.

- If the victim can drink, give them small sips of cool water. It is best to give them water with added salt and minerals such as Oresol mixed in the correct dosage according to the instructions.

- If the victim has a cramp, gently massage the cramped muscle area.

- Be careful not to let too many people surround the victim. After about 10-15 minutes the symptoms will gradually decrease.

Severity:

If the victim has severe symptoms, call 115 immediately or quickly take the victim to the hospital.to the nearest medical facility. Note: During transport, regularly apply cool compresses to the victim.

Preventive

- Limit going out in the sun on hot days, especially at noon.

- Avoid entering and exiting air-conditioned rooms suddenly.

- Drink more water, and it is best to drink water mixed with salt according to the formula 4-5 g of salt per liter of water.

- Eat green vegetables and fruits.
