Spring comes to the revolutionary homeland
(Baonghean.vn) - Before 1945, Vo Liet was the district capital of Thanh Chuong. This was where a protest by more than 20,000 Thanh Chuong farmers burned down the district office, opening the way for the establishment of the Soviet government.

Today is a very happy day for Mr. Phan To Duc - 101 years old, a veteran revolutionary cadre. He is happy because at 101 years old, he still has clear eyes and ears, a clear mind and is most happy to promote the tradition of his ancestors, his homeland is growing and changing every day.
From a poor commune with many difficulties due to its distance from the district center, deep rivers, and purely agricultural economy, since the completion of Ro bridge and Ho Chi Minh road passing through the area and put into use, the local socio-economic situation has made a breakthrough. After completing the land conversion, people have appeared VAC economic models, large-scale farms and ranches, and commodity-oriented production. In 2017, the economic growth rate is estimated at 9.6%, with an average income of 30 million VND/person/year. (Higher than the average level of rural districts by nearly 6 million VND).

Along with agriculture, industrial and construction activities, the small-scale industrial service network continues to develop, meeting the consumption needs of local people and people in neighboring areas.Up to now, the whole commune has 483 stable business kiosks. Especially mechanical services, transportation and entertainment services tend to develop. In the area, there are 32 households with cars using services, transporting goods, raw materials for production and construction.
The most notable highlight in the socio-economic activities of Vo Liet is the emulation movement to build a new rural area. Although not the commune chosen by the district as the new rural finish line, in the years 2015-2017, the commune mobilized many resources to build 40 large and small projects with a total cost of nearly 50 billion VND (of which the people contributed 13.4 billion VND); built 3.52 km of new asphalt and concrete roads of type A, 1.2 km of canals, 2 bridges of all kinds; built and upgraded cultural works such as: Vo Liet Communal House, Bach Ma Temple, Phan Sy Thuc Church, medical station, secondary school, primary school.

Notably, Trung Duc and Tan Ha villages each mobilized from 700 to 1 billion VND to build standard roads. Cultural, artistic, sports, health, population/family planning activities have made much progress, the material and spiritual life of the people has been increasingly improved. In 2017, the commune achieved an additional NTM standard in education. In 2018, it will mobilize to build cultural facilities to achieve additional cultural standards, raising the index of achieved criteria to 15 criteria.
Since the Congress, two Chairmen of the People's Committee have been replaced to meet the requirements of the task. The Party Committee has developed key programs, programs to implement resolutions of higher levels, issued specialized resolutions; assigned each comrade in the Party Committee to be in charge of programs and plans of the Party Committee, with specific roadmaps and timelines. The political system has been consolidated and developed, leadership and management capacity has had many positive changes, and the staff has matured in the new mechanism.
As a land that was once "a pioneer" in the revolutionary movement of 1930-1931. Although it has achieved many results, in the face of increasingly high innovation requirements, Vo Liet commune still has a lot of work to do, especially investing in building new rural areas.
Mr. Phan Chinh Tam - Secretary of the Party Committee of Vo Liet commune said: "Currently, the commune has a roadmap to build new rural criteria in each specific stage. Along with that, it is focusing on economic and tourism development because the area has 2 national-level relics, Vo Liet Communal House and Bach Ma Temple, many provincial-level historical relics, and the area is the gateway to Thanh Thuy - Nam On border gate and the tea island tourist area - Cau Cau Lake. This year, the commune is determined to complete 20 km of standard roads to basically close the rural traffic system; continue to mobilize and organize villages and hamlets to implement the criteria on building cultural life, developing the economy, striving to reach the new rural destination as soon as possible".
