Images of the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe appear to look like a Land Rover Defender
The 5th generation Hyundai Santa Fe 2024 has a rather square design, at first glance it looks like the famous Land Rover Defender SUV.
In fact, the images below are all graphic products of Hitekro - a Korean car-specialized Youtube channel, which has sketched the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe model based on previous test vehicle images.

The actual image of Hyundai's test car, although covered, still shows a squareness that is completely different from the current generation. |
With the revealed details, we can somewhat imagine the design of the new generation Hyundai Santa Fe model will have a square appearance and many design features that are easily associated with the Land Rover Defender model.
In addition, the sketch also shows that the A-pillar of the new model will be painted glossy black, the roof will have a large luggage rack and large wheel arches highlighting the off-road SUV style.

The front of the car will have H-shaped positioning lights and will likely also have horizontal LED strips to create a seamless highlight for the front light cluster. The front bumper will not have fog lights, instead there will be aerodynamic air intakes connecting to the front wheels.
The rear lights of the Hyundai Santa Fe 2024 will have a vertical design on both sides and will be shaped in the typical Pixel style of the Parametric Dynamic language like the Hyundai Staria model.

The design of the new generation Hyundai Santa Fe is easily reminiscent of the Land Rover Defender model. |
Also according to The Korean Car Blog, the new generation Hyundai Santa Fe will use a glowing logo in certain markets. The size of the car will be slightly larger than the current model and is a true 7-seat SUV. However, it is still smaller than its senior Hyundai Palisade.
Not long ago, information about the launch date of the new generation Hyundai Santa Fe was revealed, expected in August 2023, 8-10 months earlier than originally expected. The 5th generation of Hyundai Santa Fe will have the code name MX5.

The reason for pushing the launch date earlier than originally planned is because the 2021 sales of the current Hyundai Santa Fe model only totaled 57,578 vehicles, significantly lower than the 76,883 sales of the new generation KIA Sorento.
Even its senior Hyundai Palisade, despite having a much higher price, still sold 64,791 vehicles, while previously Hyundai Santa Fe was the best-selling SUV in the Korean market and this model only gave up the No. 1 position when the new generation KIA Sorento appeared in March 2020.

Hyundai Santa Fe is still the best-selling model in the 7-seat SUV segment in Vietnam. |
However, in Vietnam, Santa Fe's business situation has the opposite trend. From the beginning of 2022 until now, according to TC Motor's announcement, sales of the Hyundai Santa Fe model have reached 7,705 vehicles, currently the best-selling model in the 7-seat SUV segment in the Vietnamese market, far surpassing its competitors right behind, Toyota Fortuner (5,697 vehicles), Kia Sorento (3,596) and Ford Everest (3,512 vehicles).
The 4th generation Hyundai Santa Fe was launched in Vietnam in January 2019 with 6 versions for both 2.5L gasoline and 2.2L diesel engines. In May 2021, it continued to launch a major upgrade version of this 7-seat SUV, but reduced to 4 versions with car prices ranging from 1.030 - 1.360 billion VND.
