On August 17th, according to the Central Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting Center and international meteorological stations in the Pacific region, two new tropical depressions were forming off the eastern coast of the Philippines.
Specifically, one tropical depression is currently active at approximately 20.2 degrees North latitude and 125.3 degrees East longitude, and a second depression is active at 26.3 degrees North latitude and 128.8 degrees East longitude. However, these newly formed tropical depressions will only indirectly affect the weather in the South China Sea.
According to the Central Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention, floodwaters on rivers in the North are currently receding. Rainfall has decreased.
According to the Central Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting Center, the northern region is entering a period of rain that is predicted to last about 5-6 days. The intensity of the rain is predicted to be moderate to heavy in some areas.
From August 18th to 22nd, the northern provinces will experience cloudy skies with rain, some areas having moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms. Be prepared for flash floods, landslides, and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms. Temperatures across the region will drop, with the highest temperatures reaching only around 30-31 degrees Celsius. The weather will be cool.
