Vietnam exported $1.7 billion worth of phones and components in January.
In 2013, the export value of this product reached US$21.5 billion, ranking first among Vietnam's key export items.

According to statistics from the General Department of Customs, exports of telephones and components in January 2014 reached nearly US$1.7 billion, an increase of 38.3% compared to December 2013 and a 14.6% increase compared to January 2013.
The main partners importing various types of telephones and components originating from Vietnam in the month were the EU with $579 million, a decrease of 13.9% compared to the same period in 2013; accounting for 34% of the total export value of this product group nationwide. Following closely were the United Arab Emirates with $254 million, an increase of 7.9%; the United States with $127 million, an increase of more than tenfold; and Russia with $75.2 million, a decrease of 8.8%... compared to the same period in 2013.
In 2013, exports of this product reached US$21.5 billion, becoming the leading export item of Vietnam. This is one of the items with the highest growth rate and export value in the last 5 years.
Statistics from the General Department of Customs show that exports of mobile phones and components surged from $400 million to $1.3 billion in July 2011, consistently becoming one of Vietnam's top export items.
