Exports of coffee, rubber, and rice all fell sharply.
In the first seven months of the year, the export value of major agricultural products is estimated at $8.2 billion, a decrease of 5.7% compared to the same period last year.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has just announced that the export value of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in July 2015 is estimated at 2.47 billion USD, bringing the total export value of the sector in the past seven months to 16.93 billion USD, a decrease of 3.6% compared to the same period in 2014.

Of that total, the export value of major agricultural products is estimated at $8.2 billion, a decrease of 5.7%, with very sharp declines in items such as coffee (33.7%), rubber (9.2%), and rice (8.3%).
Specifically, for rice, the average export price in the first six months of the year reached US$431.16 per ton, a decrease of 4.64% compared to the same period in 2014. China remains Vietnam's largest rice import market.
As for coffee, although there was a sharp decrease in volume and value compared to the same period in the first seven months of 2014, the average export price in the first six months of the year increased by 0.97% compared to 2014.
Germany and the United States continue to be Vietnam's two largest coffee export markets. However, overall, the value of coffee exports to Vietnam's 10 main markets in the first six months of 2015 decreased compared to the same period in 2014.
Regarding rubber, China, Malaysia, and India remained the three largest rubber consuming markets for Vietnam in the first six months of 2015, accounting for 72.4% of the market share. Compared to the same period in 2014, the value of rubber exports in the first six months increased in two markets: China (+21.9%) and India (+23.1%), while it decreased in the remaining eight main markets.
In addition, the value of seafood exports is estimated at 3.53 billion USD, a decrease of 17%, with a very sharp decline in the largest market, the US (27.71%); the value of exports of major forestry products is estimated at 3.88 billion USD, an increase of 8.1% compared to the same period in 2014.
