Rice exports reached over 4.8 million tons.
Cumulative exports from January 1st to October 9th, 2014 reached 4.843 million tons, with an FOB value of US$2.095 billion and a CIF value of US$2.214 billion.
According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), rice exports from October 1st to October 9th, 2014 reached 54,888 tons, with an FOB value of US$25.717 million and a CIF value of US$26.411 million.

According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the price of dried paddy rice at warehouses in the Mekong Delta region ranges from 5,600 to 5,700 VND/kg for regular varieties and 5,750 to 5,850 VND/kg for long-grain varieties. The price of raw rice for producing 5% broken rice is currently around 7,350 to 7,450 VND/kg depending on the locality, while the price of raw rice for producing 25% broken rice is 7,250 to 7,350 VND/kg depending on quality and location.
The price of finished rice with 5% broken grains (unpackaged) in the region is currently around 8,850 – 8,950 VND/kg, rice with 15% broken grains is 8,500 – 8,600 VND/kg, and rice with 25% broken grains is around 7,950 – 8,050 VND/kg, depending on quality and location.
According to the global rice price news website Oryza, on October 15, 2014, the export price of Vietnamese rice, 5% broken rice, ranged from 435-445 USD/ton. At the same time, the price of the same type of rice from India was 415-425 USD/ton; Cambodia 465-475 USD/ton; and Pakistan 395-405 USD/ton.
