Following the US, the first lychees from Vietnam have reached Australia, beginning the process of expanding export markets and avoiding dependence on China...

According to information from the Vietnam Trade Office in Australia, during the week (June 12-19), 13 tons of Vietnamese lychees were successfully exported to Australia.

Specifically, 12 tons of lychees from Red Dragon Company have arrived in Melbourne; and 1 ton of trial lychees from Fosti and Thien Anh Minh companies have arrived in Sydney. Thus, a total of 13 tons of lychees have been exported to Australia.

"If the initial trial shipments are successful, importing businesses will sign larger contracts and opportunities will open up for Vietnamese lychees in the Australian market," the Vietnamese trade office reported, as quoted and announced by the Ministry of Industry and Trade on its website.

The Vietnamese Trade Office in Australia also stated that to boost the consumption of Vietnamese lychees, the office has designed and printed leaflets and brochures introducing and guiding the preparation of several lychee dishes to suit Australian tastes, and created short films for promotion on various information and media channels.

"Hopefully, with the efforts of businesses and the support of relevant authorities, Vietnamese lychees will have a firm foothold in the Australian market," wrote the Vietnamese Trade Office in Australia.
