Talking about his photo collection, author Tran Canh Yen shared: These are the photos I took during my journey following the group of veterans, of which I am also a member, with the wish of "Bringing the homeland to comrades" initiated by Nghe An veteran Le Ba Duong.
With the meaning of not being able to bring their fallen comrades back to their homeland as they had sworn in the past, the veterans of the 27th Regiment (the heroic Trieu Hai group) brought soil and water from the rivers, mountains, and gardens of their homeland all over the country to mix with the soil and water of the old battlefield of Quang Tri - where their comrades of the Regiment fell, hoping that they would return to their motherland.
From 2009 to 2017, the 27th Regiment's War Veterans successfully organized 5 pilgrimages back to Quang Tri - meaningful trips called "Bringing the homeland to comrades" with some trips having up to 600 members participating.
It is known that this is one of many times that author Tran Canh Yen won the "Beauty of Vietnam" photography contest organized by the People's Television Center - Nhan Dan Newspaper. Last year, with the photo work "Saving the whale", this author was honored to receive the First Prize of the month and the First Prize of the year. This year, in addition to the Second Prize of the July theme, author Tran Canh Yen also won 2 Third Prizes in the May and June issues.
