(Baonghean.vn) - "Memories of the Fire and Flower Period" are heroic, beautiful, sacred but extremely close, authentic, and touching stories of those who wrote the most heroic pages of history of the nation in the 20th century.

From July 21, 2020 to December 2020, Nghe An Museum organized a special exhibition "Memories of the War". This is a practical activity to celebrate the 73rd anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2020). Photo: Thanh Chung

The exhibition is organized into two themes: War Relics and Continuing Tradition; with nearly 300 images, documents, and artifacts such as: War relics, letters, and wartime diaries. Photo: Thanh Chung

“Resistance relics” include many soldier’s personal belongings such as backpacks, bucket hats, ammunition boxes... These items are part of the war, a bridge between the memories and the present of those who went through the war. Photo: Thanh Chung

In addition to “a backpack and a gun on the shoulder”, each soldier who leaves carries with them the image of their homeland and loved ones. On the faraway battlefield, they send their memories on hastily written letters, diary pages, or combs and mortars carved from bombs and enemy bullets. Photo: Thanh Chung

The letters of determination and wartime diaries are also the voice, the thoughts and feelings of the generation of young people in the wartime - the Ho Chi Minh era with passionate hearts and noble ideals. Photo: Thanh Chung

Through the war relics, the public understands more about the life of soldiers on the battlefield - a fierce life with many hardships and sacrifices but always sparkling with the will and aspirations of youth. They are ready to go into war, knowing how to accept sacrifices to protect independence and freedom. Photo: Document

Soldiers' belongings over the years have become precious artifacts that are cherished and preserved, contributing to educating the revolutionary patriotism tradition for today's and future generations. Photo: Thanh Chung

"Memories of the War" is a story about the responsibility of today's generation in caring for policy beneficiaries and people with meritorious services. At the end of the war, Nghe An had more than 45,000 martyrs who heroically sacrificed, more than 56,000 wounded and sick soldiers, and more than 1,000 mothers who were awarded the title of Heroic Vietnamese Mothers. Nghe An youth have been carrying out many practical and meaningful "Returning to the Roots" activities such as taking care of relatives of martyrs' families, participating in writing and drawing contests about Uncle Ho's soldiers... Photo: Thanh Chung

Generations of children today continue to promote the tradition of their fathers and brothers in the work of building and protecting the homeland. Patrolling to protect the homeland's sea and islands is one of those activities. Photo: Document

“Memories of the Warring States Period” helps the public better understand the nation’s heroic past struggles, the bravery of soldiers, the love between the army and the people, comrades, love for the homeland, love between men and women; and the lives of soldiers yesterday and today.
