Ukraine conflict reaches turning point
The US newspaper Politico said that with the Pentagon's decision to stop transferring weapons to Kiev, the Ukraine conflict has reached a turning point.

According to RIA Novosti on July 3, the Washington Post reported that the fierce conflict in Ukraine has reached a turning point due to the actions of the Russian Armed Forces and the US decision to suspend the supply of Patriot air defense missiles to Ukraine.
The article wrote: "The fierce war in Ukraine has reached a turning point in history."
According to the publication, Kiev is facing a serious shortage of weapons and soldiers, which affects the conduct of military operations on the front line.
"Western countries supporting Ukraine warn that without immediate aid support, the government in Kiev could suffer a catastrophic collapse," the Washington Post stressed.
A day earlier, Politico reported that the US had halted deliveries of anti-aircraft missiles and other precision-guided munitions to Kiev over concerns that its own stockpiles had been depleted. White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly confirmed the suspension of deliveries, stressing that the White House was “putting America’s interests first” with the decision.
Meanwhile, Politico continued to report, citing reliable sources, that the Kiev government has changed its tactics in requesting weapons from the US; now it wants Washington's permission to purchase US weapons through Europe.
“Ukraine has come up with a new plan to force the US to send it more weapons, by asking Washington to allow Europe to buy US weapons for Ukraine,” Politico said.
As part of this strategy, it is outlined that the governments of some European countries are studying options for purchasing US weapons with money from their military budgets to transfer to Ukraine.
However, the two sides have yet to reach an agreement on the matter. Such a transfer of weapons would require approval from the US, with details currently being negotiated, a source said.
Specifically, according to Politico, the talks will involve lifting US restrictions on Ukraine's use of US weapons.
