While fishing in Nam Dan during the floods, two people from Thanh Chuong met with tragedy.
(Baonghean.vn) - In the early morning of September 29th, two people from Thanh Yen commune went fishing in Nam Dan district when their boat capsized. One person managed to swim to shore, but the other is still missing.
According to the leaders of Thanh Yen commune People's Committee, Thanh Chuong district, at around 4:30 AM on September 29th, Bui Van Thanh (born in 1964) and Nguyen Canh Cao (born in 1970), both residing in My Son hamlet, Thanh Yen commune, Thanh Chuong district, used a boat to go fishing.

During a heavy rainstorm, floodwaters rose, and two men rowing a boat down to the rice fields in the Trung Dong area of Nam Dan town capsized. Nguyen Canh Cao managed to swim to shore, but Bui Van Thanh went missing.
Upon receiving the information, local authorities mobilized search teams, but so far without success.
Earlier, at 3:30 AM on September 29th, Mr. Nguyen Huu Hoang, born in 1983 and residing in Lam Hong hamlet, was swept away by the water while fishing. By noon the same day, authorities had found Mr. Hoang's body.
Currently, authorities in Thanh Chuong district are raising awareness and urging people not to fish or collect firewood along the banks of rivers, streams, lakes, and dams to prevent drowning accidents. At the same time, they are deploying personnel to man checkpoints and placing warning signs in dangerous flood-prone areas.

Thanh Chuong is one of the localities severely affected by the heavy rains and floods caused by the remnants of Typhoon Noru. According to a quick report from the People's Committee of Thanh Chuong district, as of 9:00 AM on September 29th, the entire district had 509 houses flooded, 2 schools in Thanh Ngoc and Thanh Nho deeply submerged, 5 houses damaged by landslides, 1 house completely collapsed, nearly 500 meters of fences belonging to households and agencies collapsed, more than 4 km of concrete roads and 800 meters of irrigation canals were damaged by landslides; 95 hectares of corn and vegetables, 10 hectares of industrial crops were damaged, and 150.8 hectares of fish ponds were washed away...
