» Is there a problem with Vinh City's food safety inspection capacity?
Previously, when inspecting the soy sauce production facility at Mr. Pham Hai Duong's family, the inspection team discovered that the facility had many violations of food hygiene and safety.

Specifically, regarding procedures, although the household owner has been in the traditional soy sauce making business for many years and is one of the largest soy sauce production facilities in Nam Dan, the couple has not had a periodic health check-up certificate. The facility does not have a certificate of ensuring food hygiene and safety according to regulations.
During the production process, the facility has not been able to produce documents proving the origin of the input materials with the reason that “this is a traditional local soy sauce”. In addition, although the facility produces more than 200,000 liters of soy sauce each year, the owner is taking advantage of old bottles. The process of filtering the bottles has not been ensured to follow the correct procedure.

Notably, since 2009, although the family's food safety certificate has expired, the facility's labels still clearly state: "Product standards according to No. 359/2015/YTNA/CNTC CLVSATTP".
Regarding this certificate, the inspection team directly verified at the provincial Department of Food Safety and Hygiene and was told that the certificate had not yet been issued to Mr. Pham Hai Duong's facility. At the time of inspection, the facility had about 100 bottles of packaged and labeled soy sauce waiting to be sold.

Regarding the above violations, Mr. Pham Hai Duong admitted. However, he gave the reason that the label printing process was wrong.
The interdisciplinary inspection team fined Mr. Pham Hai Duong's production facility 12.5 million VND and required the family to correct the above violations within 60 days.
According to the summary of Nam Dan District People's Committee: Through the food safety inspection during the Lunar New Year and Spring Festival 2017, the District People's Committee inspected 45 establishments producing and trading ham, sausage, tofu, and confectionery. Of which, 40 establishments violated, 32 establishments were administratively sanctioned with a fine of more than 111 million VND. Regarding the processing and production of soy sauce, management is still quite difficult and most establishments are in violation, the main fault being not having a food safety certificate. |
