Young doctors wade through streams to carry warm blankets to poor remote communes

(Baonghean.vn) - Spending many hours crossing mountain passes and wading through streams, 24 youth union members who are doctors and nurses of Nghe An General Hospital carried hundreds of gifts to the poor in Dong Van commune (Que Phong).

After traveling through the night and forest, on December 9, the delegation arrived at Dong Van 1 Primary School, Dong Van Commune (Que Phong). The delegation of 24 members led by Doctor - Master Nguyen Vo Dung - Secretary of the Hospital's Youth Union presented 1 set of speakers, 128 warm clothes for students; 55 gifts for children in difficult circumstances, each gift including 20 notebooks and 10 pens.

Next, the doctors and nurses also visited and gave 71 warm blankets to poor households in Khun Na village, Dong Van commune. Dong Van is one of the poorest communes in the mountainous Que Phong area, nearly 30 km from the district center. In particular, Khun Na village is a particularly difficult village of the commune. The village has 71 households, 286 people, the Thai ethnic group accounts for 99%. There is no electricity grid here, limited transportation, people's lives mainly depend on farming and forest products.

Mr. Nguyen Vo Dung - Secretary of the Youth Union of Nghe An General Friendship Hospital shared: "Through this trip, we contribute a small part of our feelings to share the difficulties with our compatriots and poor students. In the coming time, we will try to organize more trips to the people."
