(Baonghean.vn) - Palm Sunday is a holiday of the Catholic Church, taking place on the Sunday before Easter and the last week of Lent, commemorating the event of Jesus entering Jerusalem.
On this day, a Mass will be held to recall and review the past, commemorating Jesus' solemn entry into Jerusalem before his crucifixion. Through the Mass, the Catholic Church will remind each of its members to face suffering, to share the burden of society and humanity, to follow the example of Jesus, to make life better and more sublime.

In addition, there will be a procession with palm leaves in hand, representing the crowd carrying palm leaves to celebrate the event of Jesus entering Jerusalem in ancient times. In different regions where palm leaves are not available, they can be replaced by branches of yew, willow or other native trees. In Vietnam, most churches use coconut leaves for this procession.
