(Baonghean.vn) - Giving calligraphy is a beautiful cultural feature organized and maintained by Duc Hau Pagoda, Nghi Duc Commune, Vinh City for many years, bringing joy and peace to Buddhists and visitors every time Tet comes and Spring comes.

On the morning of January 29 (ie January 5, Canh Ty year), Duc Hau pagoda solemnly held the first writing and calligraphy ceremony of the Spring. Many people and Buddhists from all over came to attend the ceremony, ask for calligraphy and books.
Before starting the writing, the monks and the congregation chanted a short sutra to pray for peace for everyone and every family. After the ceremony, the monks started writing, distributed blessings, and gave out calligraphy.
The first calligraphy ceremony of Spring is an annual activity of Duc Hau Pagoda, which is carefully and meticulously prepared.
The monks at Duc Hau Pagoda can write in both Vietnamese and Chinese characters.
Many people and students came to the temple to attend the ceremony to ask for words and books.

When giving the characters to people, the monks also explained in detail about the given characters. The elderly asked for the character "longevity", students asked for the characters "virtue", "filial piety", "talent"... In the photo: Children are excited to receive characters from the monks.
