Yahoo Mail Classic is discontinued
Today, June 3, the old version of Yahoo's email box officially stopped working and users were asked to completely switch to Yahoo! 7 Mail.

Version 7 Mail was introduced in December 2012 and before that in April 2012, Yahoo announced that they would discontinue the Mail Classic version. However, at that time, they did not mention any terms of service and personal privacy policy.
Currently, users are forced to switch to 7 Mail and are forced to accept a condition: to let Yahoo automatically scan the content of incoming/outgoing emails in their inbox to display contextual ads. For example, if Yahoo detects that you send an email about beer, beer-related ads will appear on your screen.
Some users were angry that Yahoo’s move represented an intrusion into their privacy. “Let’s say I’m gay and I don’t want to tell anyone, but Yahoo knows! Now they’re openly going through my emails for personal information and can share it or store it,” said one anonymous user.

Yahoo allows users to filter the ads displayed on the screen through the Yahoo! Ad Interest Manager. Users can access it by placing the mouse on the circular management icon, selecting About our Ads. In the new window, under Manage Interest-Based Ads, click Yahoo! Ad Interest Manager. In the new window that appears, you can cancel the advertising categories by clicking the OFF button. However, the effectiveness of this filter needs more time to evaluate.
Meanwhile, Gmail has long scanned users' emails to show relevant ads. Even if users use add-on features like StartMail to avoid being scanned, the systems used by its partners may still scan them. As a result, many experts warn users to be careful with the information they send in their emails because it is very likely that it will be exposed.
