Yen Bai commits to strictly comply with inspection of 'monster villas'

Yen Bai leaders requested relevant local organizations and individuals to cooperate with the Government Inspectorate's working group.

Yen Bai province's electronic information portal has just announced the opinion of Mr. Do Duc Duy - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on the inspection related to the land plot at Group 42, Group 52, Minh Tan Ward, Yen Bai City of Ms. Hoang Thi Hue's family (wife of Mr. Pham Sy Quy, Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Yen Bai).

Accordingly, the People's Committee of Yen Bai province commits to strictly comply with all requests of the Government inspection team in accordance with the approved plan and the law on inspection.

The provincial leaders requested local authorities and relevant individuals to strictly implement the requirements of the Inspection Team, including reporting, providing information, explaining... Departments, branches and sectors send competent people to work with the Inspection Team as requested; create all favorable conditions for the Inspection Team to successfully complete its tasks.

The Chairman of Yen Bai also assigned the Provincial Inspectorate to be the permanent focal point, assisting at the request of the inspection team.

Previously, on June 27, the inspection delegation led by Mr. Pham Trong Dat - Director of the Anti-Corruption Department, Government Inspectorate, went to Yen Bai to announce 2 inspection contents related to the above land plot, including:land management, construction licensing and construction management; compliance with anti-corruption laws for those obliged to declare assets.Inspection period is 15 working days.

According to Mr. Do Duc Duy, in early June, sAfter receiving information from the press regarding the real estate assets of Ms. Hoang Thi Hue's household, the People's Committee of Yen Bai province directed the Provincial Inspectorate to establish an interdisciplinary working group to conduct an inspection of the case according to its authority.

However, in response to concerns about the transparency of the inspection, as the subject of the inspection was the household of Mr. Pham Sy Quy - the younger brother of the current Provincial Party Secretary, the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee proactively requested the Government Inspectorate to intervene to ensure objectivity.

Recently, the press has reported on a complex of villas, stilt houses, suspension bridges, lakes... believed to be the private residence of the Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Yen Bai province. According to Lao Dong newspaper, in 2015, the province issued many decisions allowing the conversion of more than 13,000 m2 of production forest land, perennial crop land, and aquaculture land into residential land for Ms. Hoang Thi Hue.
