Yen Bai verifies mansion related to Police Director
Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee said it is verifying information reported by the press about real estate allegedly related to Mr. Dang Tran Chieu, Director of the Provincial Police Department.

After many days of scheduling and sending questions related to the mansions and massive residences of some department directors of Yen Bai province, and the case related to journalist Duy Phong, on the afternoon of June 30, Mr. Chu Dinh Ngu, Chief of Office of the Provincial People's Committee, responded in writing to the press agencies.
However, most of the questions related to the 13,000m transition2 Forest land becoming residential land of the director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the director of the Department of Planning and Investment giving 200 million to a journalist... all received the same answer from Mr. Ngu: The Government Inspectorate is inspecting and the police are investigating so they cannot provide much information yet.
Regarding the villa suspected to belong to Mr. Dang Tran Chieu, Director of the Provincial Police, Mr. Ngu said that the Provincial People's Committee has assigned the provincial authorities to inspect and verify. After the inspection results are available, the Provincial People's Committee will inform.
Previously, regarding this mansion, the press met Mr. Chieu directly as well as contacted him by phone, but Mr. Chieu refused to confirm the information.
On the same day, Lieutenant Colonel Chu Van Hai, deputy chief of staff of Yen Bai Provincial Police, said that the Provincial Police did not have the authority to verify nor the authority to speak about the above mansion.
According to Mr. Hai, this matter is under the inspection authority of the superior agencies, the Provincial Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security.
