Yen Son (Do Luong) received the certificate of recognition as a commune meeting New Rural standards.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 18, the Party Committee, government and people of Yen Son commune held a ceremony to announce and receive the certificate of recognition for the commune meeting new rural standards in 2015.

Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Provincial New Rural Area Coordination Office, representatives of Do Luong district leaders and many people in the commune.

Yen Son is a plain commune of Do Luong district, with a small natural area and a large population. Over the years, thanks to promoting the spirit of innovation, internal solidarity, focusing on good planning work, and implementing targets on schedule.

In economic development, the commune focuses on shifting the economic structure towards commodities, promoting intensive farming, and building large-scale fields. The whole commune has built 200 hectares of high-quality commodity rice, 5 models of high-income farms and mixed farms... thanks to that, by the end of 2015, the average income per capita reached over 38 million VND/person, an increase of 25 million VND/person compared to 2010, the poverty rate has decreased.

On behalf of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Van Hang - Deputy Chief of the Provincial Office of New Rural Area Coordination awarded the certificate of recognition of new rural area standards to Yen Son commune.

The socio-cultural field has many improvements, 100% of households have audio-visual equipment. The village road system has guaranteed lighting. The rate of cultural families reaches 85% every year, 10/13 hamlets maintain and promote the title of cultural hamlet, 2/2 schools meet national standards, 100% of school-age children go to school, the rate of students passing the entrance exam to universities and colleges has increased, and health care programs are given attention.

Yen Son commune one-stop transaction center facilitates people in transactions.

In 5 years, the commune has mobilized a total investment capital of over 120 billion VND to build new rural areas, of which the people contributed over 79 billion VND, accounting for 66%. The commune has invested in upgrading nearly 22 km of standard roads, over 6 km of intra-field roads, 26 km of irrigation canals, 12/13 hamlets have cultural houses, 9/13 standard sports areas, and a spacious school system.

In 2015, the commune completed 19/19 criteria and was honored to receive a decision from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee recognizing the commune as meeting new rural standards in 2015.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee also awarded certificates of merit to 4 collectives with outstanding achievements in 5 years of implementing the national target program on new rural construction.
