(Baonghean.vn) - At around 12 noon on September 18th, three students, Phan Van Phuoc, Dang Thi Ly, and Hoang Cong Mau, all from Phu Tap hamlet (Khanh Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district), were swept away by the water while crossing Phu Tap Bridge over Vu Giang River on their way home from school. One of them is missing.

The incident occurred due to heavy rain and flooding of the river, so the three children climbed onto a local resident's car tire to cross the road. When they reached the middle of the road, the strong current swept the tire away, and because they didn't know how to swim, they were carried off course. Phan Văn Phước and Đặng Thị Lý were fortunate enough to be rescued by local residents and survived, but Hoàng Công Mậu was tragically swept away by the strong current.
Yen Thanh District mobilized 3 canoes along with police, soldiers, and local people's boats to search for the body of Pham Cong Mau from 12 noon to 5 pm today, but it has not yet been found.
