Yen Thanh replants over 1,600 hectares of rice that died from the cold

(Baonghean.vn) – After the Lunar New Year, cold rains lasting for many days caused over 1,600 hectares of newly planted rice in Yen Thanh district to die and wither.

People in Xuan Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, who were replanting rice in the fields, froze to death.

Faced with the above situation, the People's Committee of Yen Thanh district has directed localities to replant over 78 hectares of rice seedlings in the yard to overcome the cold and replace over 1,600 hectares of rice. Taking advantage of the warm sunny days, from the 4th day of the Lunar New Year, people have replanted 40% of the area.

It is expected that by the end of February 20, localities will replant all areas of rice that died from the cold.
