Yen Thanh: Spring rice yield reaches more than 7 tons/ha

(Baonghean.vn) - These days, taking advantage of the favorable weather, farmers in Yen Thanh district are going to the fields to harvest the 2017 spring rice crop. According to the assessment, the average yield is 7 tons/ha.

In the spring crop of 2017, the whole Yen Thanh district planted 12,700 hectares of high-quality hybrid and purebred rice varieties such as Khai Phong hybrid rice, Thai Xuyen 111, Thuy Huong 308, Thien Uu 8... Due to compliance with the crop calendar, combined with experience in intensive production, proper care according to technical processes, active inspection and timely spraying... the rice in the fields grew and developed well, and is currently in the ripening stage.

Taking advantage of favorable weather, farmers spread out to the fields to harvest spring rice in joy and excitement. Especially thanks to the planned fields, it is convenient to mechanize the harvest.

Local agricultural cooperatives, based on the area and rice fields, have organized contracts with machine owners according to specific harvesting locations, suitable prices, harvested the entire area, and prevented unhealthy competition between machine owners, thus speeding up the harvesting progress and freeing up land to prepare for the summer-autumn crop.

According to assessment, the average yield is more than 7 tons/ha, many communes with intensive farming traditions such as Phu Thanh, Hong Thanh, Khanh Thanh, Tho Thanh... the yield can reach from 7.2 - 7.5 tons/ha.

These days, farmers have been urgently mobilizing human resources and combine harvesters to speed up the harvest progress, while at the same time planting seeds to prepare the land for the new crop./.
