Yen Thanh: Discovered a Vac potato weighing nearly 50kg

(Baonghean.vn) - While digging the soil at the base of a sweet potato tree, Mr. Nguyen Ba Hung's family (46 years old, living in hamlet 5, Lien Thanh commune, Yen Thanh, Nghe An) dug up a strangely shaped sweet potato weighing nearly 50kg.

The potato tubers weigh nearly 50kg.

Mr. Hung said that around February 2014, his wife, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Vy (45 years old), went to the market and bought some Vac potatoes to plant as seeds. On February 25, 2015 (the 6th day of Lunar New Year), he went to the garden to dig up the soil at the base of the potatoes and discovered that the top of the Vac potatoes was unusually large, so the whole family dug them up to see.

Through weighing and measuring, the potato is about 65cm high, 80cm long and weighs nearly 50kg.

Hearing that the family had dug up a giant potato, many curious people came to see. Some expressed interest in buying the potato, but the owner refused to sell.
