Yen Thanh: Building 30 km of white runway to prevent PCCCR fire

(Baonghean.vn) - This hot season, Yen Thanh has built 30 km of white fire-blocking runways to protect nearly 6,000 hectares of forest in the area.

With the motto of prevention as the main, Yen Thanh has directed functional units to coordinate with 20 forested communes in the area and 4 production teams to mobilize forces to clear and collect vegetation in 1,000 hectares of forest; repair and renew 30 km of white fire-blocking runways, 15 propaganda boards, and fire prohibition signs in key areas. Expand residential roads and invest in building new arterial roads to serve forest fire prevention and fighting (PCCCR) in the pine forest areas of My Thanh, Cong Thanh, Dong Thanh, Xuan Thanh and Tan Thanh communes.

In addition to maintaining the 2 available blowers and 3 chainsaws, this year, the District Forest Protection Management Board also prepared nearly 300 fire prevention and fighting tools ready to respond when a fire occurs.

Especially at this time, the intense heat accompanied by strong southwest winds, forest fires are forecasted to be at a high level, Yen Thanh district has focused on urgent solutions in forest fire prevention and control; coordinated with functional sectors to promote propaganda work, raising awareness of forest protection among the people.
