Request to report the case of 'Professor of Music' Ngoc Son
The Ministry of Industry and Trade requested the Vietnam Association of Artisans and Brands to report on the award of a certificate of merit to Mr. Pham Ngoc Son.
In response to the press's reflection on the Vietnam Association of Artisans and Brands (VATA) awarding a certificate of merit to Mr. Pham Ngoc Son (stage name singer Ngoc Son - PV) with the content written on the certificate of merit as "Professor of Music, Singer Pham Ngoc Son", the Ministry of Industry and Trade has just officially commented.

Accordingly, on August 23, the Ministry of Industry and Trade sent a document to the Vietnam Association of Artisans and Brands requesting the Association to report and clarify the consideration of awarding the above Certificate of Merit to the Ministry of Industry and Trade before August 25, 2017.
The reason why the Ministry of Industry and Trade must intervene in this issue is because the Vietnam Association of Artisans and Brands is under the state management of ministries and branches related to the Association's field of operation (including the Ministry of Industry and Trade) according to the provisions of law.
"After receiving the Report of the Vietnam Association of Artisans and Brands (VATA) and on the basis of legal regulations, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will provide specific information on related contents for the press and media to know," said the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Previously, on the evening of August 15, Ngoc Son and his two younger brothers organized a concert to celebrate his mother's birthday at a tea room in Ho Chi Minh City. In the middle of the program, he suddenly knelt down to present his mother with a certificate of merit awarded by the Vietnam Association of Artisans and Brands for her outstanding activities in the cause of preserving Vietnamese culture. The certificate clearly stated the recipient as "Professor of Music, Singer Pham Ngoc Son".
