Following numerous irregularities in vaccination work that have occurred recently, such as the case of administering insufficient doses of vaccines to children in Hanoi and the injection of expired vaccines into three children in Phu Yen, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan has requested the Ministry of Health to report to the Prime Minister by June 20th on vaccination activities over the past 10 years (from 2003 to the present).

Accordingly, the Ministry of Health must clearly state the types of vaccines used, their origin, effectiveness in preventing disease, and the price per dose for each type; cases of adverse reactions, especially severe reactions and deaths, for each type of vaccine used, and propose solutions regarding vaccines in the future… The Deputy Prime Minister also agreed with the Ministry of Health's proposal to temporarily suspend the use of the Quinvaxem "5-in-1" vaccine.
