Vietnam has repeatedly communicated with China when its survey ships entered Vietnam's exclusive economic zone in the East Sea.

On the afternoon of May 25, Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang answered questions about Vietnam's reaction to the recent violation of Vietnam's exclusive economic zone by the survey ship Huong Duong Hong 10, Chinese coast guard ships and fishing boats.

Ms. Pham Thu Hang said that recently, the Chinese survey ship Huong Duong Hong 10 and a number of coast guard and fishing boats violated Vietnam's exclusive economic zone established in accordance with the provisions of the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnamese authorities have communicated many times with the Chinese side and implemented measures in accordance with international law and Vietnamese law to ensure Vietnam's legitimate rights and interests.

Vietnam requests relevant Chinese agencies to comply with the common perception of the two countries' senior leaders, immediately stop the infringement activities, withdraw the Huong Duong Hong 10 ship and coast guard and fishing vessels from Vietnam's waters, respect Vietnam's sovereignty and jurisdiction, seriously implement the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC), maintain peace, cooperation and development in the East Sea, and contribute to the development of relations between the two countries.

According to media, the survey ship Huong Duong Hong 10, escorted by coast guard ships and many Chinese fishing boats, headed to the Tu Chinh area located within Vietnam's exclusive economic zone earlier this month.
