1.5 tons of dried squid seized is fake squid fiber

On September 10, information from the Quang Tri Market Management Department said that the 1.5 tons of dried squid that this unit seized on a refrigerated truck on August 27 was fake squid.

This conclusion was made after more than 10 days of sending samples to the drug, cosmetic and food testing center of the Thua Thien - Hue Department of Health for testing.

Accordingly, the protein content in the captured dried squid only reached 50% of the regulation. The main ingredient of this dried squid is mainly fiber and can be harmful to the health of the user.

Currently, the Quang Tri market management agency is completing procedures to destroy the above squid. The squid was seized in a refrigerated truck owned by driver Tran Van Minh, from Long An. Mr. Minh admitted to transporting the squid from Hai Phong port to Ho Chi Minh City.
