(Baonghean.vn) – This morning, October 30, Vinh City Police, Nghe An Passenger Transport Joint Stock Corporation, Vinh Bus Station and Vinh Market Bus Station organized a meeting to share experiences after one month of coordinating to ensure traffic safety in the field of passenger transport in Vinh City.

To ensure safety and minimize traffic accidents in Vinh City, implementing the direction of the leaders of the two branches of the Provincial Police and the Department of Transport of Nghe An, from October 1, Vinh City Police coordinated with the Traffic Inspectorate, Nghe An Passenger Transport Joint Stock Corporation, and bus stations in Vinh City to patrol and strictly handle cases of passenger transport violating traffic safety laws in Vinh City. After a month of implementation, with a high sense of responsibility, the functional forces have corrected traffic compliance awareness, especially those who drive passenger vehicles, patrolling and strictly handling violations.

Interdisciplinary working session

The interdisciplinary team coordinated with the leaders of Vinh Bus Station and security forces to chase away and strictly handle those who specialize in being bus conductors, touts, and vendors selling on the sidewalks and in front of the bus station gates. There were 370 cases of passenger buses being handled, mainly for violations of roundabout picking up passengers, turning around where there were signs prohibiting turning around, and stopping to pick up passengers against regulations. In particular, the Criminal Police of Le Loi Ward Police, in coordination with Vinh City Police and the leaders of Vinh Bus Station, arrested and strictly handled those who gambled, recorded lottery numbers, and drug addicts and drug injectors inside and outside the Vinh Bus Station area.

However, there are still some problems such as the situation of passenger buses leaving the station, or entering the station and then stopping on the street to pick up passengers in violation of regulations. Some private passenger transport companies automatically set up bus stations called "illegal bus stations" to sell tickets, pick up and drop off passengers, and carry goods in violation of regulations, such as Van Minh, Phuc Loi, and HN passenger buses. Some passenger buses violate the prescribed routes, and buses without sufficient paperwork (illegal buses) are still operating without being strictly monitored. Some "brokers" and "passengers" after being handled, now re-operate in a "transformed" form by often sitting on the bus, directing the bus company to pick up and compete for passengers, so it is very difficult to detect and handle.

Concluding the meeting, the leaders of Vinh City Police acknowledged and highly appreciated the results of the interdisciplinary working group and the drastic participation of the relevant units. The leaders of Vinh City Police requested that the two sectors coordinate more closely, continue to put passenger transport activities in order and in accordance with the law, to ensure traffic safety, especially from now until before, during and after the 2013 Lunar New Year; at the same time, requested the Inspectorate of the Department of Transport and Vinh Bus Station to find ways to resolve the existing problems of some private passenger transport companies, both ensuring general regulations and maintaining the brand in the province.
