A Russian satellite collided with Chinese space debris
According to Voice of Russia, Russia's Blitz satellite, operating in coordination with the international laser remote sensing system, collided with debris from China's Fengyun-1C meteorological satellite.
This is the second orbital collision since 2009, according to Thomas Kelso, an expert at the Center for Cosmological Measurements Standards and Applications.

Experts from the International Laser Range Station (ILRS) have observed a sharp change in the orbital parameters of the Blitz satellite.
Investigation of space debris data confirmed that 10 seconds before the Russian satellite changed orbit, one of the fragments of the Chinese Fengyun-C satellite flew near Blitz.
Phong Van-C1 was destroyed in 2007 during a test of an anti-satellite weapon conducted by China.
Experts need time to determine the extent of the damage and the ability to continue using Blitz./.
