1. Use lemon to clean wooden cutting boards
Using half a lemon and a little sea salt, dip the lemon in the sea salt and rub all over the surface of the cutting board, then rinse with dish soap and water.
2. Use baking soda to clean baking pans, mattresses and ovens
Mix 1/4 cup baking soda and enough hydrogen peroxide together to form a paste and rub it onto the cake pan. Let it sit for a few hours, then rinse.
For mattresses, use a vacuum cleaner to remove any debris and dirt. Then, sprinkle baking soda all over the mattress. Let it sit for a few hours, then vacuum up the baking soda.
Similar to the oven, wipe the entire inside of the oven with a damp cloth and then apply a thin layer of baking soda. Leave overnight and then use a damp cloth to wipe off the excess baking soda. Next, spray with white vinegar and leave for a few hours to let it interact.
Once you see that the mixture has worked, use a sponge to wipe the oven clean. Finally, turn the oven on low for about 20 minutes to let the oven dry.
3. Use white vinegar to clean shower heads, microwaves, coffee makers and toothbrushes.
To clean your shower head, prepare white vinegar and a plastic bag. Pour vinegar into the bag and tie it around the shower head, let it soak for 1 hour. Then, rinse with water.
For the microwave, place a cup of water mixed with vinegar in it and run it on the highest setting for at least 2 minutes, then wipe the microwave with a clean cloth.
Clean the coffee maker by filling the pot with half water and half white vinegar. Then let the machine run half the brewing cycle and let it rest for an hour. After an hour, do the other half of the cycle. Clean the coffee pot and run the machine a few times with clean water until you can no longer smell the vinegar.
For toothbrushes, take a clean cup, pour white vinegar into it and soak the brush head in it for an hour.
4. Use potatoes to clean the cheese grater
Once you've finished cutting the cheese, grab a piece of potato and start cutting. The oxalic acid in the potato will quickly clean up any stains on the grater.
5. Use the dishwasher to clean children's toys
Gather up all the toys in the house and put them in the dishwasher (just make sure they don't melt). Any stains will come out.
