10 years in prison for 'blue beard' who lured a girl into adult activities

On the morning of September 21, the People's Court of Nghe An province held the first instance trial of defendant Hoang Van Ka (born in 1985, residing in hamlet 12, Nghi Kieu commune, Nghi Loc district) prosecuted for the crime of "child rape".

According to the indictment, Hoang Van Ka was a worker at Nghe An Province's Road and Waterway Traffic Construction and Management Joint Stock Company, participating in the task of repairing Provincial Road 534. Ka often went to Ms. D.TD's house (residing in Hamlet 2, Nghi Van Commune, Nghi Loc District) to hire Ms. D. to repair the canal.

From March 2017 to May 2017, Hoang Van Ka had sexual intercourse with D.TH (born 2005), D.'s daughter, three times. The first time, around the end of March 2017, Ka came to D.'s house to call her to go to work. Seeing H. alone at home, Ka had the intention of raping her. After committing the animalistic act, Ka gave H. 20,000 VND and told her, "If anyone asks, say it's my lucky money" and then Ka left.

The second time, in April 2017, Ka went to Ms. D's house and caught H. Ka enticed her to give him 100,000 VND to have sex with her. After being satisfied, Ka gave the girl 50,000 VND and said "I will give you 50,000 VND later".

The third time was in May 2017, like the previous times, Ka went to Ms. D's house and committed indecent acts with H. This time, Ka gave H. 300,000 VND and had sex with her. Afterwards, Ka asked for 50,000 VND back.

On June 16, 2017, Ka went to D.'s house again, but this time H. did not agree. Ka then enticed her with money, a watch, and a ring. If she refused, Ka threatened to report to the school and kidnap her. However, because H. firmly refused, Ka was unable to carry out his actions.

After that, H. came home and told her mother the whole story. On June 21, 2017, D. went to Nghi Loc District Police to accuse Ka of raping a child. H.'s family asked Hoang Van Ka to pay 35 million VND in compensation. Currently, the defendant's family has paid the full amount.

At court, Hoang Van Ka confessed to all his crimes. The panel sentenced the defendant to 10 years in prison. The victim’s family did not request any further compensation for civil damages, so the court did not consider it.
