(Baonghean.vn) - FORBES has just announced the list of 100 most powerful women this year, and the top 3 names are all politicians with great influence in the world: German Chancellor Angela Merkel, US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and Chairwoman of the US Federal Reserve Janet Yellen.
In all, there are 11 heads of state, along with the Queen, two first ladies, and two high-profile diplomats. It seems that more than ever, women are leading (or running for) many of the world's largest countries.
Topping the list is German politician Chancellor Angela Merkel, who directly controls Germany's $3.3 trillion GDP and has influence over the European Union's (EU) $16.2 trillion economy.

Another bright face who has been in the top 5 most powerful women seven times since 2004 and has been ranked number 2 for two consecutive years is Hillary Clinton. If elected in the US presidential race, she will be a formidable “athlete” competing for the number 1 position on the next list.
