10 months, Nghe An fined nearly one billion VND for traffic safety violations against buses

(Baonghean.vn) - Since the beginning of the year, authorities have fined nearly 1 billion VND for buses violating traffic safety laws.

Recently, bus operations have become quite chaotic with violations mainly being speeding, reckless overtaking, fighting for passengers..., causing many traffic accidents.

According to the Department of Transport's report, in the first 11 months of 2017, there were 15 traffic accidents involving buses, killing 8 people and injuring 15 people, many of which were serious violations.

To regulate bus operations, in the first 10 months of 2017, authorities discovered and recorded 924 cases of buses violating traffic safety laws, including 98 cases of speeding, 47 cases of not giving way to priority vehicles, and 223 cases of stopping and parking in the wrong place...

The bus companies that were penalized the most include Dong Bac bus company (over 200 violations), Thach Thanh (nearly 100 violations), Su Chuyen (50 violations)...

The authorities have imposed fines totaling nearly 1 billion VND to the state budget. Of these, 163 cases had their driving licenses revoked and 16 vehicles were temporarily seized.
